Lubbock residents are hosting a town hall meeting concerning Sunset Review for the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ). The purpose of the Town hall is to provide a discussion forum for residents to learn about the Sunset process and voice their experiences. The forum will be conducted in a panel discussion format, allowing short presentations by panelists followed by individual commentary. Sunset Commissioners, State Representatives and Senators in attendance will have the opportunity to ask questions and converse with each presenter as they see fit.
The Lubbock panelists are as follows: Representative Warren Chisum, Randy J. Ammons – TCEQ Area Director, Rod Johnson, and Dr. Ken Rainwater – technical expert. Don Richards will moderate this meeting. We hope the residents of Lubbock and surrounding communities will join us to recount their experiences with TCEQ, and to share their suggestions for improving the agency in light of TCEQ’s upcoming Sunset Review.
Organizers realize that reforming the state agency charged with protecting our health and environment is vital to the quality of life of the citizens of Texas. We hope that you will be available to join in this important conversation. Attendees can RSVP to this event via facebook.
