Welcome to the 81st Legislative Session

Sunday, January 4th, 2009

As the 81st Texas Legislative Session gets under way, the Alliance for a Clean Texas–ACT– is launching a new website. We have a new design, a new URL (acttexas.org) and a new emphasis on the latest developments in environmental legislation. There’s a section on the 81st Legislative Session that provides news from ACT member organizations and updates on the latest environmental legislation. This session, if you want to know what the leading environmental groups in the state think of the bills under debate and what they’re doing to make them better, www.acttexas.org will be the site to check.

But while our website may have a new look, ACT remains committed to its original mission: bringing together environmental, public interest, consumer rights, and religious organizations dedicated to improving the public health, quality of life and environment in Texas. ACT exists to bring together the expertise and experience of the wide range of organizations committed to making Texas a cleaner, healthier place to live. With so many voices joined together, the message cannot help but be clear: it’s time for Texas to ACT.
